My Story
I grew up going to a Catholic Church, but I never did understand it. Eventually my brother’s best friend invited him to Bible Drill at a small Baptist Church. Slowly my entire family started getting involved, memorizing scripture, and I got baptized. I started to attend a Christian school and learned more about the incredible stories of the Bible and an awesome God who took away my sins, but I still didn’t apply it to my own life.
My 8th grade year after someone very close to me took their life, I became depressed and rebellious. I had just left the Christian school and didn’t have a lot of positive friends. So I left the Church. At age 15, on the Thursday before Easter Sunday, my mom dragged me to church and that is the night I surrendered my life to Christ.
When I gave my life to Christ it completely transformed me, but there were parts of my life I still didn’t want to give up. I had felt a call toward ministry/missions in high school, but I tried to run as far from it as possible. I came to Wingate University to do Nursing because that was my plan for my life.
And, as the Lord designed it, I came across Provision church my first semester. I got plugged into the college Bible study and met Gloria Medlin. Gloria pushed me to grow, surrender, and even challenge my own plans. I declined my offer to nursing school and committed to the calling on my life for ministry.
I am in awe of the plans the Lord had on my life. I am excited to see how He will continue to move and mold His ministry in my life!
